  • Friendly, positive customer relations for all participants

In addition, as an Organizer/Promoter, the following requirements must be met:

  • A completed application must be submitted and approved by the GBRA Board: http://www.gacycling.org/modules/xforms/index.php?form_id=3
  • Event must be sanctioned by USA Cycling and run in compliance with USA Cycling guidelines.
  • Races must be scored in accordance to the categories outlined by the BAR Competition below.
  • Riders must race according to their licensed USA Cycling category.
  • All required fees and results must be submitted in a timely manner. Failure to submit fees or results will result in future events being removed from the BAR Competition.
  • Results must be submitted to GBRA within 48 hours of the conclusion of the final race of the event.
  • Promoter must include the GBRA logo and website name/link on race announcements, websites, emails, and registration website.

In order to properly award points and overall BAR Competition champions, the following categories must be included for road, criterium, and time trial events. Points Schedule

GBRA BAR positions for each racer shall be the sum of their highest earned-points performances from a maximum number of events in each road discipline, as follows:

Ø  Road Races – Best five (5) earned-points performances

Ø  Time Trials – Best five (5) earned-points performances

Ø  Criteriums – Best five (5) earned-points performances

For example, a rider may race 12 Criteriums in a season, but ONLY the highest 5 will count toward the total. Lower scores will be dropped as better results come in. This scoring system is built to reward all-around ability.

Ø  Points will be awarded 12 places deep.

Ø  All State Championship Events, and one-day Category A events will be worth approximately 1.5 times as many points.

Ø  There will be no transfer of points during the season. Riders will accumulate points ONLY in the category for which they compete.

Ø  In the event of a tie, the following criteria shall be applied in order until the riders are separated: 1) highest result in a Georgia state championship event; 2) the most BAR races participated in the 2010 season.

Racer Requirements

  • In order to participate in the GBRA BAR Competition, the racer must hold a valid annual USA Cycling license in good standing.
  • One-day licenses and Men’s Cat 5 will not be eligible to earn points in the BAR Competition.
  • For mixed class race events, riders must declare in what class (category or age group) they are competing. A rider who falls within the parameters of two classes for the same single race event, must choose the class in which they wish compete for BAR points before the race is held.
  • Riders can not accumulate points for more than one class in a single race event. Riders may choose to race in two separate classes at a given event and attempt to accumulate points in both classes separately. (For example, a rider can race the Cat 3 and score points in that class and then later that day race the Masters and score points in the Masters BAR competition too).
