Racing:: Dahlonega Omnium Details?
I e-mailed both Hiker Hostel (the actual promoter) and Swagger. HH said they were looking at an early June date (though if you look at the June calendar, it's pretty full already). Swagger responded that they're working with the promoter on a new date. Based on those responses, my impression was that the March date is definitely out. Regardless, I really hope the event does happen.

Racing:: Tallahassee Cycling Classic
Just to let all of the Georgia racers know. There is a race in Tallahassee on the 27th and 28th of Feb. It is only a 4 hour drive from Atlanta so if you want to get an early test of your legs come down and race. You can checkout the course maps at http://www.gulfcoastvelo.com/Race.htm

And the flier @ http://www.floridacycling.com/flyers/tallahassee2010.pdf

Thanks

Racing:: First Road Race of 2010 season?
GABRA manages the official calendar of road, track and cyclocross races in Georgia. Click on the Event Calendar on the left of the page. The calendar is mostly static at this point. We don't anticipate making any additions to the racing calendar for 2010.

Racing:: Cycle Therapy Rome Winter Cyclocross Series
The second edition of the Rome Winter Cross Series was run in the mud and balmy conditions compared to last week. We are really getting a great cross section of weather conditions so far. The crowds were bigger and the free beer was still free!
David added part of the motocross course which was basically an uphill ride and a nice decent but the mud was so tacky that after that section wheels were so clogged that he had to take it out. Regardless, the terraced section was back and the mud on the rest of the course made it very draining each lap. Also back was the paved ¼ mile loop which came after a nasty mud section, further draining the legs.
The racing was good and in the A/B race two Faster Mustache guys took 1 and 2. Since you can race as many races as you want to the race fee, many folks chose to race the SS or masters as well.
The third edition is this weekend and for now looks like showers and not so cold. Try to make it out if you can. Last weekend Brad Harper, Eric Nicoletti and some other new faces came out and had a good time. We even had a person from Florida come up. Hope to see you there.
